BEFORE BOOKING
It's worth a quick call to your insurance provider.
Coverage for psychotherapy performed by a nurse varies by plan and isn't always easy to find in the fine print.
Ask specifically whether your plan covers psychotherapy performed by a Registered Nurse — not just "psychotherapy" or "registered psychotherapist," as these are often different categories.
Nursing services are exempt from HST and may be eligible to be claimed as a medical expense on your income taxes. A conversation with your accountant can clarify what applies to your situation.
Receipts are provided after each session.

If you’re still not sure — that’s okay too.
You don’t need to know exactly what to ask for. You don’t need to be at a breaking point either. If something brought you to this page, that’s enough to start.
