Services
Psychotherapy
Nurse psychotherapy is unique for its holistic approach, blending nursing principles with psychotherapy to address patients' psychological, physical, and social needs. It focuses on building therapeutic relationships empowering patients, and offering personalized care. This creates a collaborative and compassionate environment for healing and recovery
Food Sensitivities and Intolerances
Supporting families with food sensitivities, including conditions such as Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES) and FPIAP, involves providing tailored resources on elimination diets, fostering community support, and ensuring access to knowledgeable healthcare professionals for accurate diagnoses and personalized dietary advice.
Lactation Support
Providing lactation support both in person in the Cornwall ON, and surrounding area as well as virtually from the comfort of your home. My goal is to empower mothers through evidence-based guidance and emotional support, addressing common challenges and ensuring they receive the appropriate access to additional resources.
Meet Tara
I graduated from the University of Ottawa, completing my consolidation in Psychiatry and have been practicing as a Registered Nurse for over 15 years. While I have worked in various settings, the majority of my professional career has been working within the Correctional environment. The opportunity to work with such a diverse and vulnerable population has enabled me to not only become familiar with various medical conditions (physical and mental health) but also helped me to develop a deep compassion for my fellow human, free of judgement.

As a mother, I became intimately familiar with the challenges that can arise during breastfeeding and began a journey to support others by extending my knowledge of breastfeeding through education and helping lead a peer-support group.
Two of my children have been diagnosed with a rare food allergy called Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis (FPIES). For over 7 years, I have been providing education and support to various families in our community. I have helped guide mothers following Elimination Diets and with food introductions with evidence-based information and personal first-hand knowledge. While food sensitivities and intolerances are becoming more widely understood, there remains a vast lack of resources and support for families. This is where I come in.

I promise to create a space that feels safe and welcoming- often with a dash of humour thrown in (I'm told that I'm pretty funny and easy to talk to). I am a lover of animals, plants, and learning. My to-be-read pile continues to grow as does the number of courses I continue to pursue.

Mindfully Nursed is my passion-project. It has long been a dream of mine to offer my services to those who might need them. I'm honoured you have come to my page and I welcome you to reach out and connect.
